When one person walks into the room, that person has the potential to shift the energy of the space, whether they intend too or not.
Spring semester is in full swing; all of the interns have arrived, and with over twenty people living in Hispania for the week, the energy was magnetic. I feel I am exactly where I am suppose to be. I personally have three interns, Hannah, Lillian and Tiffany. What immediately comes to mind when thinking about them is excitement and passion; they are magnetic, and being around my interns just confirms that I am exactly where I am suppose to be.
Some of the ideas expressed by my interns consist of continuing the education program at the school; painting a mural; getting recycling in the town; teaching ESL classes… i know we will all be more inspired once we are in San Miguel… and we are all excited to be there!
When your job is doing something that you love, its not a job. For the last three years i was teaching 8th grade English… I loved it, it wasn’t a job for me; it fulfilled my heart and soul. Being here at Kalu Yala I am doing what i love from a different angle, and it is already extremely fulfilling.
